Research Area

Glucokinase Activator(GKA) --- Dorzagliatin(HMS5552)is a first-in-class oral drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes that under developed by Hua Medicine. Dorzagliatin has brand new mechanism and structure.
mGluR5 negative allosteric modulators (NAM) as potential novel treatment for levodopa-induced dyskinesia in Parkinson’s disease (PD-LID) and plan to initiate clinical studies in the near future.

The Concept of Glucose Homeostasis

&
In Healthy Humans

Glucose concentrations for healthy individuals are maintained within a narrow range of 4-6.5mM --- glucose homeostasis, and regulated by various pathways. As the glucose sensor, glucokinase (GK) senses changes in glucose levels, which is essential for maintaining whole-body glucose homeostasis.

&
In Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

Impaired GK activity and function in T2D patients results in defects in glucose sensing, leading to disrupted glucose homeostasis.

&
Glucokinase Activator (GKA) Restores

A GKA can repair defective GK function and restore glucose homeostasis.
